Quality Time

When I was a kid, I remember my dad talking many times about spending "quality time" together as a family. Now that our kids live far away from their grandparents "quality time" has taken on a whole new meaning. During the two weeks my parents were here, they made a lot of memories for our kids. Here is how they spent most of their time. Daniel LOVES to have someone just PLAY with him. My dad was a willing partner and they spent a lot of time playing basketball on the little Nerf basketball hoop.

Norah decided one day she wanted to learn how to write, so she found a little pre-school workbook and began tracing letters. Grandma thought she'd help, but Norah wanted to write the letters her way.

My dad took the kids on many bike rides. He'd often head to the park, to see the horses in a nearby pasture, or to the McDonald's playland and they'd be gone for hours.

Calvin wanted to show Grandma how to build towers with his Wedgits.

And then there were the never-ending games of Monopoly...

UNO was always fun too -- especially if Uncle Jason and Aunt Ashley were willing to play too!
