Yokohl Valley
Tonight after supper we headed for the hills and had a quick family excursion to to Yokohl Valley. It was indescribably beautiful... this picture from Scott's cell phone doesn't begin to do it justice. The hills were green and covered with yellow wildflowers, the air was cool and crisp, the valley oaks seemed so graceful scattered next to the gently flowing brook, and the cows were definitely "happy cows" as they grazed the hills and valleys. Daniel was in absolute heaven biking along next to Scott and me. It's a little hard to see in this picture, but he has a plastic shovel dangling from his bike handle that he wanted to take along to use as a "gun" to shoot any squirrels he might happen to come across. Then, the highlight of the night was a bike ride down Rocky Hill, the infamous hill that challenges many riders and runners in the area. What a great getaway!
